Kourtney Picou, 30, Remembered After Fatal Electric Scooter Crash On Savoy Road In Youngsville On August 27, 2026
The Youngsville community mourns Kourtney Picou, 30, who died Thursday night, August 27, 2026, after a vehicle struck the electric scooter Picou was riding.
Youngsville Police said officers responded shortly after 8:30 p.m. to the 1200 block of Savoy Road after a reported crash involving an electric scooter.
Investigators said Picou traveled along a dark portion of the roadway while wearing dark clothing, and the scooter did not have lights.
Emergency responders transported Picou to a local hospital, where Picou later died from the injuries sustained in the crash.
Police said the driver of the other vehicle received an evaluation at the scene, and authorities did not suspect impairment contributed to the crash.
Family, friends, and community members will remember Kourtney Picou for a life that left lasting memories with those who knew and loved Picou.
