Maria Segobia passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026, after a serious medical emergency that began on Thursday, August 13, after school while walking to a car.
School staff found Maria Segobia and called 911, and an ambulance took Maria Segobia to Salinas Valley Health Medical Center for urgent care.
During treatment for a stroke, Maria Segobia experienced a heart attack, entered a coma, and did not regain consciousness.
A memorial support page created on August 26, 2026, reported $1,765 raised toward a $12K goal through 23 donations to help with funeral costs, medical bills, and related needs.
Maria Segobia served the Greenfield community as a kindergarten teacher for more than 40 years and left a lasting impact as a spouse, parent, sibling, child, tía, teacher, friend, and mentor.
