Nicholas Nevola, 59, Of Cranston, Remembered After Thursday Night Motorcycle Crash On Route 6 In Johnston
Nicholas Nevola, 59, of Cranston, Rhode Island, died Thursday night after a motorcycle crash on Route 6 West in Johnston.
Rhode Island State Police responded around 8:45 p.m. near the I-295 South on-ramp after a report of the crash.
Investigators said Nicholas Nevola traveled west on Route 6, missed the on-ramp, struck a bridge abutment, and then hit a highway sign.
Officials said no other vehicles were involved, and they reported no additional injuries or major property damage.
Emergency responders took Nicholas Nevola to a hospital, where officials later pronounced Nicholas Nevola dead.
Authorities have not released further details about why Nicholas Nevola missed the on-ramp, and the preliminary inquiry remains active.
The crash happened near a major interchange in Johnston, a Providence County town located about 5 miles northwest of Providence.
