Sachin Bhatia and Abhishek Pujari died on Thursday, August 27, 2026, after a Garg Aviation training aircraft crashed near Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, India.

The aircraft went down about twenty minutes after departing Kanpur for a training flight and came to rest in a field near Nathapurwa in the Katri area, close to the Ganga Barrage.

Sachin Bhatia served as the flight instructor and reportedly had several years of aviation experience with about 3,000 flight hours.

Abhishek Pujari was the trainee pilot aboard the aircraft during the training flight.

Emergency teams and local authorities reached the site quickly, and officials secured the area for aviation investigators.

Early reports said no one on the ground died, and the aircraft carried no commercial passengers.

Indian aviation authorities, including the DGCA, were informed, and investigators will review the aircraft, maintenance history, weather, communications, and final moments of the flight.

Their deaths bring deep sorrow to their families, colleagues, and the wider aviation community.
